REVIEW: Reboot by Amy Tintera

Reboot (Reboot, #1)Reboot by Amy Tintera
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

*WARNING*

BAD GRAMMAR

First i want to thank the publisher, HarperTeen, and Edelweiss for the chance to read and review this book early.

disappointed.the world building was too simple for science fiction.the heroine wasnt as bad ass as i thought.
"The longer Reboots are dead, the less human they are when they return."
WRONG. Wren was so human. she's no different than human, just because she became boring person after she rebooted, doesnt mean she is less human. physically? yes but nothing more.she is much stronger now but she is still human at heart. the author failed to make Wren a terminator kind-of-type. this were bothering me so much. The moment i realized THAT, the moment i realized too that this book/the whole book was a FAILURE

beside that, the romance, the actions and the plot didnt help.
the romance was a bit insta-love for me and the actions were just fine, not impressing (especially for action fans. *cough* terminator.
the plot, sadly, was too easy to predict.

the premise, the title, the cover...this book was my kind of book. it SUPPOSED to be my book. but it wasnt. it was very disappointing.

except the writing though. i liked the way this book was written. i think it was great, especially for debut novel. so congratulations on that.

i rated this 1 star.

if you love sci-fi and dystopia YA with romance(of course,we are talking about YA,right? *roll eyes*),and NOT really smart, this book is for you;)

GIVEAWAY

Everbound + Most Anticipated 2013 Book Giveaway (INT)

Everbound
Author: Brodi Ashton
Series: Everneath #2
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Fantasy
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
My Rating:
Summary:
Nikki Beckett could only watch as her boyfriend, Jack, sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the Tunnels of the Everneath for eternity — a debt that should’ve been hers. Now she is living a borrowed life, and she doesn’t know what to do with the guilt. And every night Jack appears in her dreams, lost and confused and wasting away. No matter how she tries to reach for his hand, she can never find it.
Desperate for answers, Nikki turns to Cole, the immortal bad boy who wants to make her his queen — and the one person least likely to help. But his heart has been touched by everything about Nikki, and he agrees to assist her in the only way he can: by taking her to the Everneath himself.
Nikki and Cole, along with Cole's bandmate Max, descend into the Everneath, only to discover that their journey will be more difficult than they’d anticipated — and more deadly. From a Lake of Blood and Guilt to Sirens' alluring tricks to insurmountable walls of rock and flame, the trio is given every reason to turn back and give up. But Nikki vows to stop at nothing to save Jack — even if it means making an incredible sacrifice of her own.
In this enthralling sequel to Everneath, Brodi Ashton tests the bonds of destiny and explores the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love.

My Review:

Everneath is my most favorite book read and released in 2012 and I absolutely couldn't wait until Everbound came out. Sadly, I never managed to get an ARC ofEverbound and I thought I'll get my own copy of Everbound on January 22 - it's release date - until I saw a copy sitting there in Strandbooks, new condition, for $9.00 (that's half price off!), three weeks before its release date. You should have seen me squealing in excitement and quickly snagging the book off the shelves before anyone else could get it.

But enough about that. Everbound was exactly how I remembered Everneath to be: sad, but exciting; adventurous, yet dangerous. Before I started Everbound, I was worried that I wouldn't get into it because I read Everneath near the date when it was first released (which is about a year ago). I was planning to re-readEverneath a week before Everbound's release date to be prepared for it, but I wasn't expecting to get a finished copy of Everbound so early (not that I'm complaining). I didn't have to worry, Brodi Ashton managed to give mini-recaps of the events that happened in Everneath without any info-dumping. It was all natural and fits in and goes with the flow.

The world of the Everneath wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was expecting something a bit more like Hade's version of the Underworld (it is a retelling of Persephone after all) with hell and fire and all that, but for the Everneath to be an entirely new world that just works with cheesy names and elements is amazing.

What I loved about Everneath was how Brodi Ashton managed to weave memories of Jack into the book so naturally. She does the same in Everbound(although not as much), and every time I get to a part where Nikki is reminiscing about her moments with Jack, I couldn't help but feel a huge smile grow on my face. However, we don't really see a lot of Jack in Everbound, but more Cole.

Cole is a really conflicting character to me. In Everneath, I was strictly on Jack's side. However, Everbound shows depths of Cole's character that we never knew before. Let's just say I'm on team whoever-makes-Nikki-happy now.

And oh my goodness. That ending. What?! Why?! What?! Where is the next book?! Yeah, that pretty much sums up my feelings. January 2014, please come faster (and it's not January 2013 yet!)

As a side note, I'm sure people who were not really fans of Everneath due to the lack of action will really enjoy reading Everbound. There's tons of more action and less flashbacks.

why i love YA

Share the Love of YAI love YA books!! why? because i'm a young adult!! i feel like when i'm reading YA i can relate to the characters and fully understand what they feel and why they do that or do this but the difference is YA books set in a better world than mine, full of magical, endless drama, amazing heroine, strange world and all. when im reading YA,i would be able to forget my real-world problems, get into the world the author has made and blend to the hero/heroine,feeling sympatetic to what happened to them, cause they're just teenager like me,living in an amazing but tough world. YA books has inspired me. especially YA dystopian books, for example: hunger games, divergent and blood red road. they're my favorite. reading them has opened my eyes and made me realize that my problems in life is nothing compared to theirs. no matter how weak you are,how much people in your side,or how strong your opponent is,if you know you are right, you just have to keep fighting, fighting and fighting. stand on your own. dont wait for others to help you. appreciate the people who stay in your side when you are at your worst. Also i learned to compare which one is true friend and which one are not. Actually,YA genre has taught me manyyyy things-realize it or not- and i couldnt thank enough. Through YA books,i can see the world-or shall i say-UNIVERSE. full of magics, creature, myhthology, sides of human that will suprise you and other things that at first you think they dont exist. welll let me tell you one thing. everything are exist in YA books. including  YOUR DREAM HUSBAND!!. oohh does it sound so complicated and complex for you?? noo its not!! you're wrong. Why? because its a YOUNG ADULT book!! the wildest dream, fantasy, are exist and could happen in YA books but of course in Young Adult way. So i guess you already figured out why YA books are everyone's favorite. YA books could be enjoyed by any age, cause its easy to understand, the story is complicated enough but fun to read, the main characters and story is mature enough for teen but also satisfying for adult. When reading it,we are being teenager.YA books should be read by anyone. if not,WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ALL THIS TIME?? i.meant.every.word.in.it. and once you get into the world of YA. you couldnt come back.you will never get enough of it. i've warned you!. i think thats why YA books always come with all the heaps, turned into movies, fandoms, fanfic and all the kind. Best books on earth must be YA books. I swear YA is one of the best thing ever happened in my life and definitely one of the most magical things on earth. they'are just damn good. Oh! BWT did you see the covers?! YA covers!! GOD they'are so freaking amazinggg and very COOL!! compared to adult or kids books, hands down!! YA own the best!. Anddd thank god! so many new authors write YA!! the craziness for YA will never stop!! never! :D. BLESSED THE AUTHORS WHO CREATED THE WORLD OF YA!! XD. i think YA is another world, although most of them sound realistic. i wish i could live in the world created in one of YA book!. YA is such an escape from my boring and very ordinary life. it has opened my mind, see many things i wont be able to see in real life. it taught you a life lesson you will never forget. YA has changed me into a better person. A person who knows what she wants and slowly but surely will find her true identity. it has expanded my fantasy and my knowledge about life in a huge way. i love YA so muchh. you have to try to read YA to experienced what i feel. you wont regret it,i promise. The best thing to do in your leisure time? READING YA! when you sad? READING YA! when you happy? READING YA! when you feel lonely? READING YA!! its definitely the best thing to do!! and the feeling when you reading YA? breathtaking!! it has sooo many feelings!! TONS OF EXTREMELY FANTASTIC FEELINGS!! reading YA will left you with thousand of memories. its like, you have so mucchhh memories of a teenagers!! sounds funny right? actually its more like funny, amazing and damn fascinating! if you have read YA books, you would understand.... the scary fact that you actually has experienced as teenager for many times...

ps: sorry for my bad english! its easier to read than write...hehehe:D
i hope you can read this and understand what i meant!!  if theres something you dont understand in the text above, just ask me and i will fix it!
